Film Pitch


Locked Up
Within this lesson we presented our film pitch production presentations to the class and we received different feedback from multiple different people and our teacher. 

Relevant/intriguing/catchy film title?
  • 'locked up'- catchy makes you think of what is going to happen throughout the film. 
  • There is a simple yet catchy title.
  • Good title which gets people interested.
  • Short and snappy.
  • Simple but catchy.
  • Yes and I love the description.
Interesting characters and appropriate cast?
  • All characters are suited to the film type and suit the plot line. 
  • Characters and Actors that are used are extremely interesting and fit with the plot line.
  • Each character is individual yet they work well together.
  • There is interesting characters that fit perfectly with the cast choice.
  • The decision of characters and actors and interesting and fit with the theme set.
  • Lovely and well though out character personalities and how the would fit with the narrative.
Was interest created for the audience? Enigma Codes?
  • It makes the audience intrigued towards what will occur next and the enigma codes asked are based along the lines of what will happen to the characters and what other events of the board game will occur.
  • There are frequently asked questions (enigma code) and for this reason it keeps the interest high throughout the film. 
  • Not all of the film was described so the audience is intrigued to know more about what is going to occur.
  • There is frequently asked questions which keep the interest levels high. 
  • Yes with relevant influences.
Narrative suitable for target audience? Will it attract customers?
  • The Target Audience is middle which is good for the type of genre that has been allocated for the film. It will attract horror/thriller fans as it has a classic names which will influence people to watch this film, because if they are this type of fan they will instantly recognise the type of genre through the catchy title.  
  • The narrative fits the genre because it doe suit the target audience.
  • It is hard to follow the storyline as there was a lot of description for the story.
  • It will attract customers although there is too much writing and detail within the presentation which could make you switch off. 
  • Thoroughly thought out and great emphasis on language analysis. 

Does the narrative fit the genre? Are the conventions in the place?
  • The narrative does fit well as the genre shows thriller and the narrative of the film is borderline horror. 
  • The narrative fits the genre.
  • Good time frame however borderline horror. Be careful or you might deter the audience and the genre research is good but still feels a bit like a horror. 
Is the film different?
  • It combines many different films together in one whole, with associations of different documentaries and programmes but nothing as a whole film has been seen before and it has different aspects of films yet to be seen.
  • Its like a usual thriller, it doesn't have any new aspects.
  • It looks different however sounds very common compared to other thrillers.
  • Yes; interesting storyline. 
Good ideas for the marketing film?
  • The ideas for marketing are good for the audience type because many middle aged professionals will frequently watch TV and will see trailer being advertised. The poster is also another way of good advertisement because this could be seen online or in the cinema. 
  • When the film will be played was well thought about.
  • Trailer that fits the film.

  • Yes

Teacher Feedback
What went well-  A lot of work evident in the presentation. It was thoroughly researched and all areas thought out. 
Even better if- Incorporated the money and cost.
